Mass Congregational Maghrib and Isha' prayers with Sheikh Dr. Maher bin Hamad Al-Mueaqly at Stadium Indera Mulia, Ipoh
Something extraordinary will take place later today (February 21st 2013) at Stadium Indera Mulia located right here in the City of Ipoh, right after the sun sets below the beautiful horizon. Thousands of Muslims are expected to perform mass congregational Maghrib and Isha' prayers, to be led by Sheikh Dr. Maher bin Hamad Al-Mueaqly, the Imam of the Grand Mosque (Al-Masjid Al-Haraam) of the Holy City of Makkah.
Mass Congregational Maghrib and Isha' prayers with Sheikh Dr. Maher bin Hamad Al-Mueaqly: The Preparations
The team of Ipoh Happenings paid Stadium Indera Mulia a quick visit this morning and found that preparations are currently being made to organize the event in the best possible manner and we have to admit that we are quite impressed with what we had seen at the site.
Huge, open canopies had been erected to provide shelter (in case of rain) and we can see rolls of prayer rugs ready to be laid onto the make-shift wooden platform. We also saw a few Lembaga Air Perak's water tank trucks at the scene, ready to provide water for ablution through some make-shift plumbing prepared by a few workers.
We were told that Perak MB Dato' Seri Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir will be there along with thousands of other Muslims in the city. If all goes well, the team of Ipoh Happenings will be there too since it is not often that we get the chance to perform congregational prayers with the Imam of the Grand Mosque (Al-Masjid Al-Haraam)!
